Computer Hardware Upgrades in Wichita Kansas

Most newer computers, already have what it takes to make a decent system. However, if you have an older computer, a few minor upgrades might make the difference between a slow old computer and forking out some money for a new one.

The #1 upgrade that can be done to an older computer, is a memory upgrade. When I tell most folks they need more memory, they ask: "So I need to get rid of stuff on my computer?" Memory doesn't store the files on your computer like you might think. Though it does store information, it is only temporary information. Kind of like sticky notes. If you fill up a sticky note, you simply pull out another sticky note and write more stuff on it. When you are done with the reminder, you throw away the sticky note. It's temporary information. This is the same way that memory works. Let's say that you use the edges of your computer monitor for your sticky notes and within a few weeks, there isn't enough space for another sticky note. You take an old one off, throw it away and put the new one in it's place. Computer memory can also become full of information and the computer has to figure out what it doesn't need so it can throw it away. But, what if you were to get a bigger monitor? Say, a fancy 24" widescreen. That would give a lot more space for sticky notes! Same with memory. By adding more memory, you add to the temporary space the computer has to work with.

Other typical hardware upgrades that might be needed are bigger harddrives or an entire harddrive replacement, power supplies, video card upgrades or CD & DVD burners.
