The Samsung SH-S183 18x DVD±RW Lightscribe DL SATA Drive (Black is an excellent DVD Burner to replace those old CD-ROM and CD Burner drives. Keep in mind that this drive is a Serial ATA DVD Burner and if you are using an older computer, you will need to pick up a Parallel ATA DVD Burner such as the Pioneer DVR-112D 18x OEM DVD Burner -

Most newer computers (approx. 2 yrs or newer) should have both Parallel and Serial connectors.

The SH-S183 also has Lightscribe technology which means you can burn text or images to the 'top' side of a DVD. You will have to purchase special media such as the: HP 16x LightScribe 4.7GB DVD+R Media - 15 Pack in order to use this technology though.
